Measurement of textile permeability is a time and resource consuming process, hence numerical prediction of the permeability is required. Using the law of Darcy, permeability can be derived from a simulation of the fluid flow, i.e. after solving the Navier-Stokes or Brinkman equations. In this paper we present the results of simulations with an extended version of the freely available finite difference CFD software package NaSt3DGP and we compare the results with those obtained from a Lattice-Boltzmann code. The results are validated with theory and experimental data.}, note = {Also as Preprint No.~228, SFB 611, University of Bonn} }
